Innovation and technology have a long tradition and a bright future in the Canton of Solothurn

We are an industrial canton and, in particular, a hotspot for modern orthopaedics and traumatology. With the exception of Bally, all of them are still based in the canton, producing and exporting to the wider world. 

Other industries also benefit from watchmaking expertise. This is one of the reasons why the biotech company Biogen chose the Canton of Solothurn as a location. Tasks such as plant maintenance and logistics require well-trained workers who are accustomed to working with precision and reliability. With its history in the precision industry, the Solothurn region is well positioned in this regard.
